CEO
For Soyini Chan Shue, being a first responder isn’t just a job: it’s a calling. Born and raised in the Bronx, Chan-Shue is the founder and CEO of City Safe Partners, an advanced elite security firm headquartered in Harlem.
Chan Shue credits her family and community for fostering the sense of social responsibility that drives her to keep New York City safe. After retiring from her career in law enforcement, Chan Shue was called to continue her work in public safety but understood first-hand the barriers faced by women of color in the space. She realized that if she wanted a seat at the table, she’d have to build that table herself. Today, City Safe Partners reflects Chan Shue’s extensive experience in public safety, as well as her deep commitment to cultivating talent and creating opportunities for her community.
As the CEO of City Safe, Chan Shue fosters a spirit of teamwork amongst her employees who play an instrumental role in creating safer neighborhoods and are guided by City Safe’s Core Values:
1. Dedication
2. Do the Right Thing
3. Make the Impossible Possible
4. Be Humbly Confident
5. We Care
6. We Serve Our Clients Best When We Put our Employees First
Chan Shue and the City Safe team leverage a combined 95-years of law enforcement and security experience to provide unarmed and armed security professionals to protect government, residential, and commercial sites.
With an office on West 135th Street Harlem, City Safe is deeply connected to its surrounding communities and serves as an example that entrepreneurs exist everywhere and come from all walks of life. In addition to its core services, City Safe creates jobs, sponsors local sports teams, and offers both students and employees a drop-in hub for academic and career mentorship.
Under Chan Shue’s leadership, City Safe has been recognized by the Women’s Presidents Organization and JP Morgan Chase as one of the country’s 50 fastest-growing women-owned/led companies, and by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Woman Small Business Champion of the Year. Inspired by her years as a member of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York, Ms. Chan Shue is also the only Black woman signatory for the 32BJ Service Employees International Union.
City Safe is an SBA certified African American Business Enterprise (AABE), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), and Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB).
Chan Shue has a Bachelor of Applied Science in sociology and a Master’s in non-profit, public, and organizational management from Maris College School of Management.
